My Ancestors Lived Here

We help you make your personal journey in genealogy easier, more exciting, and accurate, so your  family legacy will be well written, well documented, and well organized for all your family’s generations.

About Me

I can’t honestly say when my love for genealogy was born. As a child, I was filled with stories about what my parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents did and how they lived. It was nothing special, just the family stories. We would drive around town to see where everyone lived, worked, where they walked, worshiped, and were buried. This was normal in my childhood. The dead were not dead, they were just in another room or a few miles away. Collection of census records, deeds, wills, and vital records came later.

From gathering the vital records, the old family stories began to take shape. Many were true, some had been redesigned to put someone in a better light and some needed to be slightly rearranged with what was learned and some that were believed to be fictional were true. No matter what was found, it was an exciting and evolving story.

Just looking at a family tree and not knowing the history and stories behind it can be boring, like the thought of history being a series of memorized battles, rulers, and dates. There needs to be something behind it – to make the people come alive.

I have had the privilege of helping many people with their trees and stories as well as working with book researchers and people wanting to join lineage societies. I’ve also worked as a genealogist for:

  • Genealogy Roadshow
  • Finding Your Roots with Henry Lewis Gates
  • Who Do You Think You Are?
  • Ancestry
  • The Georgetown GU272 Project
  • Toyota
  • The Gettysburg Times – History column

I am looking forward to working with you and meeting your family.
